Tim Austin and Laurie Mitchell - September 18, 2025: Agritourism - Tim Austin of Fort Austin and Laurie Mitchell of Sage View Ranch presented a program on Agritourism this week. Agritourism is a concept whereby farmers provide space on their property for vacationers to camp or stay overnight in more formal facilities enjoying the experience of being on a farm. Not only does this give tourists a less expensive option for vacation travel, it gives the farmer a means of boosting their income from the farm. It also enables those whose lives are cloistered within urban boundaries to experience the activities that take place on a farm. |
