Taku Ohashi - March 26, 2026 - Taku Ohashi - This week, Rotary Exchange Student Taku Ohashi, accompanied by Julie Pliner, gave a colorful presentation about his hometown Higashi Omi, in the Shiga Prefecture of Japan. Dressed in a traditional summer “yukata” belted with an “obi”, he talked about his family, the food they enjoy, the arts they practice, some customs that differ from our own, and other aspects of life in Japan. One custom is “omiyage” a gift of a local food. A special treat called “mochi” was shared with the group. |
