NFVRC Seeks Funds for Improving School Lunches

 
North Fork Rotary is pleased to announce support for a new initiative aimed at providing locally sourced natural beef to kids in the local school cafeterias.  In a partnership between Delta County School District and Homestead Natural Meats, school meals will be augmented with local beef, pork or lamb at least once a week under a program called "Meals for Minds".
 
The Club is excited about this program and is seeking significant funds to support it.  North Fork Rotary will contribute funds, and money is also being solicited from the community, including available grants.  The funds will be given to the school district and earmarked for purchasing meat from Homestead Natural Foods.  The other Rotary Clubs in the county, Delta and Cedaredge, are being encouraged to join the initiative and provide similar funding targeted at their local schools.
