Liz Lilien - May 1, 2025: Night of Broken Glass - On April 1, 1940, a Jewish family came down the gangplank in New York from the ship that enabled them to escape the terror of events in Germany. They, along with thousands of Jewish people had been subjected to discrimination, abuse and other atrocities. Then, were forced to leave their homeland as refugees. Liz Lilien was four. Her parents got jobs, then started a business, and after many years were able to move to the North Fork. Now ninety, Liz came to share her story with us. |
