Kalia Schevene - August 27, 2026 – Baret Scholars Opportunity - Kalia Schevene, a Paonia native, spoke to Rotary Members about her impending plan to spend the next nine months traveling with Baret Scholars to nine regions around the world starting with Colombia. The group of 65 students spend one month in each region learning about the geography and culture of that area. Mornings are spent with learning experiences and afternoons exploring and developing fellowships. Her specific interests are how communities around the world provide housing for its residents and civic space for communities.
