Jun 12, 2026 - Jun 15, 2026
Hello all,
I wanted to forward on some information the District RYLA Committee passed along - I'm not exactly sure who is on what mailing list from them, but thought this was worth sharing with everyone.
RYLA is something we have historically sponsored, but doesn't actually have dedicated funds or a real champion in our club at this time. We have all collectively agreed that we believe it to be important and have budgeted to send two students this year, but the future of this program is uncertain in our club. Before we let go of something, I think it's best to understand it fully and then see if there is energy and capacity to maintain it. RYLA is a very special program. There is a great little video linked at the bottom of this email. I'm still learning a lot about RYLA. We were lucky to have returning RYLA students talk to our club in Sept 2024 (it was that one day when I was kept at work and the meeting pivoted to our beautiful park on a beautiful day) and they spoke about a major theme that year: Restorative Justice.
I will work on getting returned RYLA students to speak to us again.
The North Fork has a strong history of RYLA making a large impact on our students. For the last couple years we have sent students back as peer counselors after their participation year. That's actually pretty remarkable and speaks to both RYLA and to the dedication and impact of our valley students.
Thanks for reading through this and learning more about a program we've been at for a long time.
Please ask all the questions you might have as we begin seeking students for this summer.
Best,
Tanya

The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) planning board is happy to announce that the RYLA student registration link is now live, and can be found below! The registration link is only for students selected by your clubs you'd definitely like to attend RYLA. Now is the time to start recruiting!
RYLA will be held this year on June 12-15, 2026 at the Golden Bell Conference Center in Divide, CO. The registration fee will be $450 per student. Clubs will be responsible for arranging/providing transportation to students to RYLA, and club members who plan to transport students will be required to get a Rotary-sanctioned background check (valid for 4 years). If you need a background check, please reach out to rylad5470@gmail.com.
Additionally, we're looking for individuals and businesses who may be interested in donating to RYLA to help fund activities like a high ropes course or a guest speaker. This is a 501c3 tax-deductible opportunity. If you or anyone/any business you know might be interested, please contact Miffie Blozvich.
Please see below for the registration link, as well as a PDF flyer here to share with your local high schools/Interact clubs. If you have any questions, please contact rylad5470@gmail.com, or check out our website at rylaintherockies.org for periodic updates!
